Yixing Zisha Teapot 240cc – Purple Clay – Tiger Painting Tea
The listing photo does the honest work here — what you see is what arrives. At 240cc, it is sized for solo gongfu sessions.
You are looking at purple clay, the classic Yixing material that rounds out harsh edges in the brew. The unglazed clay and boiling water are old friends — just warm the pot first — simple, and exactly right. Look closely and clay's fine grain gives the surface a smooth, almost silky feel. Every edge is softened just enough to feel comfortable, which makes daily brewing just a little easier. Never use soap on unglazed clay; hot water and a soft cloth are enough. Seasoning is simple: rinse with hot water, brew one tea in it, and let the clay do the rest, and the small comforts add up.
Keep it seasoned to one tea and it will pay you back in flavor. It is equally at home in a beginner's kit and a collector's cabinet. A fine way to start, or continue, a Yixing collection.
