Yixing Zisha Teapot 180cc – Purple Clay – Bird Cloud Painting

Some teapots ask to be admired. This one asks to be used. With 180cc of room, it brews comfortably for solo gongfu sessions.

The clay is purple clay, the classic Yixing material that rounds out harsh edges in the brew. In practice, yixing clay softens harsh edges in tea, rounding out each steeping. Proportions favor the hand, not the display case — a small thing, but it matters every session. Clay body rings clear when tapped, a quick sign of good firing. It turns out a quick warm-up rinse before brewing keeps the temperature stable. Clay this honest asks for nothing but hot water and good leaves, and the small comforts add up.

It arrives ready to season, and the first pot of tea is on you. Simple, sturdy, and pleasant to hold: the whole pitch. Years from now, the patina will tell the story of every tea you brewed. It makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who has started taking tea seriously.
